Some of the parts of the cars were really close to the audience, it would get shut down before it started.
And mindless as it is, there is something fascinating about watching it. They do it every year, it seems.

Yes but no but yes but...
A cheese hurtling off a cliff may appeal but there is something almost rewarding seeing rednecks sitting too close to what would be certain death should one of those vehicles suddenly get a burst of speed and go just that little bit faster over the edge and suddenly become more aerodynamic than it was thought...
I also noted the organiser saying they were running out of room due to the erosion of the river banks so it may be a moot point (or they will just go find somewhere else to do it)
