This is a normal post sounds a bit dodgy to me
He wont be able to defend himself at this trial, it will only hear evidence from the prosecution and although it cant pronounce him 'guilty' it can decide whether he committed the crime.

Wouldnt anyone want the right to defend themselves if they were accused of offences like these?

This is a normal post Depends on if the Judge deems him fit to stand trial I suppose.
And if he's not deemed fit can't he be tried the same as any other mentally unfit suspected paedophile and put in a secure hospital?
