In addition to the speed record posted earlier, you might be interested in this video for the lowest score, oddly much skill is needed.

* Of course it's a bloke. Why would a woman even bother trying to get a low score, when they have boobs to look at and play with?

This is a normal post Seth bling here (not really)
I find this stuff really interesting, and there's a dude called Seth Bling who is perhaps best known for technical Minecraft things, but also does great videos explaining about speedrun shenanigans. For example, "Super Mario World 1st Ever Sub-1min Speedrun".

Worth checking out, if you find this interesting.

The Minecraft speedrun scene is quite a good laugh too; best for a "known seed" (ie knowing where everything is) is under 5 minutes - but note, if you're not familiar with speed running, it probably will be confusing to watch. Here it is, anyway. I could explain stuff it anyone cares... but note it's not "glitchless" - ie you can "cheat".

Glitchless (ie not cheaty) set seed (ie know-where-stuff-is) is 7 mins 16s.

The current record for a random seed, no cheats, is 26:48, which I think is most impressive of all. It calls for a lot of improvisation.

Minecraft can be completed in about 90s, if you use tools to glitch the fuck out of things... doesn't count for the official records, but it's pretty insane.
