This is a normal post suprising how much of the schtick, tone, cutaways, and even a lot of the characters were already nailed in the pilot
Apart from a bit of animation polish and a few changes to the voice actors after being commissioned, the pilot could run now as an episode and it wouldn't look out of place. I'm assuming it's still going, haven't watched it in years

This is a normal post So it is exactly the same as the finished show then.
I tried to watch a 'new' episode a year or two ago. Just like The Simpsons, the pace has slowed down, the frequency of jokes has decreased, the cast sound like their recording studio has a carbon monoxide leak. It seems cruel and undignified to keep these shows going.

I'd advise you to avoid the new stuff. Harry Shearer quit 10 seasons ago after season 26 and it had already gone 10 years too long by that point.

South Park somehow manages to stay fresh.
