Toucansucks
I made this!
Okay the bottom line is this company has pissed me off to such an extent that I'm
no longer rational and I am declaring war.
I already made a video, now I've helped set up a website to warn other people about the
horror that is Toucan Residential Broadband...
The video can also be sent at:

PS its got lego in!

Toucan are the worst.
My complaint to Otelo resulted in £50 "charge" being refunded to me alongside a £50 compensation payment for poor customer service. With Virgin now and all seems okay so far.

I can undestand the anger factor here.
You have obviously never been a Toucan customer. If they promise something they should be able to deliver it, otherwise they should not been in business.
Blame the company, not their customers.

Not trying what?
Maybe I'm extremly naive but when I was promised unliimited broadband internet, that's what I expected to get. Not to be constantly emailed that I had exceeded their fair use limits and to be put on a speed less than dial up. Complaints to their pathetic customer service dept fell on deaf ears, so I left it to Otelo.
It's unfair to expect everyone who is signing up for an ISP to be savy of the industry or aware that some companies like toucan are just down right liars.
Why should the customers have to TRY? They should get EXACTLY what the isp promise. If not go to Otelo, win your dispute and change isp, like I did.

Fair Use? Unlimited?
Toucan don't specify what their fair use policy is when you sign up, but even after I was on holiday for a week I returned to receive an email saying I had used 7Gb in the last week. That was impossible and blatent lies. If they want to impose download limits they should not advertise as an unlimited broadband provider.
Toucan appear to have misunderstood the concept of false advertising.

Getting ripped off sucks
And so I salute your efforts to spread the word and vent your anger.
With only 240 hits you aint doing much converting though. I suggest you submit both the video and the pages of the site to various social bookmark sites and increase your exposure.

adsl24
I swapped to adsl24.
On the basis of 1 month contract
& English tech support,
they also have some ncie tools to
see usage etc.
Switch over was smooth, and i havent had
any reason to talk to tech support yet-
so can't really quote on quality of that...

thanks for the fish.
Thanks for the replys guys.
The site only went live yesterday so still adding links.
When I signed up I swear there wasn't anything in the advert about fair usuage. Apart from that my connection was down to below 100kbps in the DAYTIME without the fair usage punishment.
I gave them 2 months to sort it, all I ended up with was extra charges on my bill from premium tech support, and threats from debt collection agencies when I refused to pay an incorrect bill.
It's okay to say do your research before you sign up, but if no one shouts and complains, that research will be useless anyway ;-)
