From time to time, I hear it said, almost mournfully, that you never see white dog shite any more
Well so what? Who wants to see decaying canine faeces lying around anyway, hosting all manner of nasty microbes etc.

Personally I prefer being able to walk around without having to watch my feet in case I stand in any kind of dog crap, white or otherwise.

Ben Goldacre linked to a blog post where he said that white dog shit is merely brown dog shit that the maggots and slugs have eaten all the wet bits of, leaving behind only the calcium/roughage.

The proponderance of white dog shit up until the 1980s just meant that dog owners were such dirty bastards that they left the turds of their precious little snookums to lie rotting for months until they turned white.

That and the vast quantities of Winalot that no self-respecting dog owner would be seen without back then.
