This is a question Not-stalgia

Willenium tugs our sleeve and says: Tell us why the past was a bit shit. You may wish to use witty anecdotes reflecting your own personal experience.

The Bleep Test.
Who remembers this in P.E? Straight out of Auschwitz.
You had to run from one side of the gym to the other before the 'bleep', which got incessantly faster and induced a coronary.

Them fat kids were always out n the first 4 rounds.

I used to love it.
All the cool kids dropped out early to skive and my fellow "swats" dropped out about the same time. That just left me and the guys who lived and breathed sport -- I was almost always top three much to the annoyance of the PE teachers.

Did your fellow swats run in full gear?

I used lower case for a reason.

By "lived and breathed sport" do you actually mean
"Fat, sweaty failures", and by "top three" do you mean "constantly bullied"?
(, Tue 3 Sep 2013, 15:27, closed)
I'd have thought the opposite.
How many rugby team captains get their lunch money pinched?
(, Tue 3 Sep 2013, 15:41, closed)
At my school, all of them.

(, Tue 3 Sep 2013, 15:49, closed)
Except for the male ones.

Is that how teachers supplement their wages these days?

(, Tue 3 Sep 2013, 20:42, closed)
that and
pole dancing.

I mean I was amongst the last "out".
Along with the two fastest lads in the year, one of whom was the rugby captain and the other the equivalent for athletics (I never paid enough attention to find out what that was).
I'd be hard presses to run the length of a gym nowadays though.

Same here.
When I was 15 I was no.2 in the school in Athletics, and played rugby for the county junior team.

Last week I picked a spot on the beach at Bournemouth based on the fact it was right by the cable car that meant I wouldn't have to climb back up the hill to where we were staying.

If this were colouringbook I'd "like" this.

(, Wed 4 Sep 2013, 18:44, closed)
I remember that. If I had to do it again I would definitely shout 'FUCK' every time it bleeped.
