This is a question Best and worst TV ads

"I'd like to give that dodo off the 5 Alive adverts a good kicking," says tom.joad. And luckily, there's tasty, tasty Cillit Bang to clean up the blood stains when you've finished. Tell us about TV adverts.

Adverts that use classical music
There is a generation (my generation) that will forever call the second movement from Dvorak's 'Symphony No 9 (From The New World)' - "The Hovis Music".

Instant devaluation of culture.

But...
There are probably a lot of people who would never have heard the music had it not been on that advert. Anything that brings quality arts to the masses has to be a good thing, surely?

Something similar applies to the Eroica
as used by the MEB in the 1980s.

You can revalue it, but it'll hurt
...because it's also the music for the hymn "Going Home", which was sung at the funeral of my Grandma, and my parents.

Instant weeping of buckets.

The other really famous one from the same period is
'Air on a G String' by Bach used for the Hamlet Cigars advert.
