This is a question Accidental animal cruelty

I once invented a brilliant game - I'd sit at the top of the stairs and throw cat biscuits to the bottom. My cat would eat them, then I'd shake the box, and he would run up the stairs for more biscuits. Then - of course - I'd throw a biscuit back down to the bottom. I kept this going for about half an hour, amused at my little game, and all was fine until the cat vomited. I felt absolutely dreadful.

Have you accidentally been cruel to an animal?
This question has been revived from way, way, way back on the b3ta messageboard when it was all fields round here.

Near LSD and Dog horror
If you ever manage to get hold of some acid on blotting paper (fat chance these days), whatever you do, DO NOT leave any out on a coffee table where a dog can have a good snuffle at the contents of said table and get one stuck to its snout!

I don't think it affected her but I was off my tits and could have swore she kept winking at me in my terror expecting her to go nuts...

reminds me
of an experiment carried out in the 60s (I think) by scientists with too much time on their hands. What would happen, they wondered, if a large dose of LSD was given to an elephant? Would it trip out, would it go into one of those elephant rages (forget what theyre called), would it have no effect at all?

After experimentation, they found that LSD is poisonous to elephants even in small doses.

Damn. They'll never forget that one.
