I know the noise you are referring to - its like when your in a tent and its pissing down.
I know this because my brother and i used to share a room when i was younger - and yes - he went sleep walking and yes he woke me up pissing all over my chest.
you are so right - it is haunting noise.
**edit - ooops misread you post - YOU made the haunting noise - ahwell, both noises are horrible.
