I have frequentlyhad folk approach me as I get back to the car and offer to pay me for unused portions of my ticket. I usually wave away the payment and give them the ticket (I feel that if they have asked then they deserve it for the effort of having asked). This doesnt work in places where you have to enter your Reg No before buying a ticket tho. Anything to stop the council from getting paid twice for the same car parking slot.
