He flicks to a new tab in Firefox. Positions the mouse.....

"..........PASTE!........YAY!!! I did it!"

He does a little dance of victory around his squalid bedroom.

"OK. Only another 85 words to go and I got that fucker nailed....."

this is getting sad and sounding like an obsession though.

It seems unlikely that anyone seriously thinks Badger spends that much of his time doing the archive, particularly as most of the stuff in it gets sent to him.

The sort of stuff you are saying now is along the same lines, and to be honest far less amusing, and far more dull.

and anyway, who gives a shit? Most people are on here to liven up their otherwise dull day. Some people enjoy the posts, some people enjoy people mocking the posts. It seems unlikely that anyone enjoys people whinging about every fucking thing.

Obsession?

Nah. I rarely post on QOTW week these days - look at my recent postings - weeks go by where I don't bother.

But, occasionally, I like to kick the ants, troll the trolls. Badger and his merry men have successfully trolled the fuck out of QOTW and ruined it for many of the regulars. The mods have done the square root of fuck-all to stop it and so a load of regular, quality posters have fucked off.I think QOTW is poorer for it.

So no. No obsession here. But I do enjoy ripping the piss out of the Trolls and watch them scurry every once in a while.

There was once a group of people who had a flair for writing and lots of stories, who the more they won QOTW, the more the only comments their stories would attract would be those of jealous, bitter types, feeding off each others enthusiasm for hating these posters and trying to out do each other in vitriol. After many, many weeks it got boring and they left.

It's a real shame. I like a good story.

I don't think they have ruined it
it's not what it was sure, but that's not down to the trolls. It's not down to the mods to do anything, they aren't babysitters, this isn't mumsnet. But if people cross the line they get banned.

The root of my point is that posts like yours up there aren't trolling the trolls, it is feeding them, and in a feeble way at that.

I have nothing against you, I've very much enjoyed your stuff in the past. I don't tend to care if stories are made up or whatever (or embellished as I suspect yours were) but seeing a lot of posts along the lines of yours up there^ each week is what is damaging QOTW for me.
