The staff at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Glasgows Golden Jubilee Hospital, for keeping me alive.
If any of you lot work in either of those (especially the coronary care and high dependency units) then a big thank you and, no offence, but I hope I never have to see any of you again.
And if you work in any other hospitals I'll say thanks to you too, you do a great job and although people moan about the NHS, without really great people like yourselves it would be a fuck of a lot worse.

I had a lovely packet of crisps earlier. There was a wizened little green thing at the bottom - horrible, risible, pathetic, and deserving of little more than a quick grimace and a free pass to the kitchen bin - but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the rest of the bag.

On a completely unrelated note, it's a testament to the kind-hearted magnificence of the NHS and its staff that I can overlook the fact that they pay for AB's internet access. I fervently hope they survive the ravages of the coalition budget cuts relatively unscathed.
