This is a question Bad Management

Tb2571989 says Bad Management isn't just a great name for a heavy metal band - what kind of rubbish work practices have you had to put up with?

once upon a time
I looked at which meetings everyone was attending and drew a graph. It showed that the more senior you were the more meetings you attended, and the more meetings you attended the longer each meeting was. So it was relatively easy to spend all your time in meetings and have no time to actually do any work.

On the other hand, talking to people can be useful too, so I shouldn't have been so cynical

Slave to the system
A meeting is a business tool, Its not the be-all or end all.
One place I worked had a policy of standing meetings for the weekly catch up. Stops any gaseous windbag getting too comfortable

We have weekly stand-ups, but everyone is allowed to sit down.
