Nixie tubes!
My mate made a similar clock but mounted it in a glass-fronted jewellery box thing.

I love 'em
I’ve got 6 to make for friends and family. 3 hours soldering, and about three hours to make the wooden cases.
I’m gathering the bits to make the clock that’s been in my head for the last 6 months. Dekatrons, nixies, copper tubing and oak case….it’s going to take some serious shed time.
