This is a question Redundant technology

Music on vinyl records, mobile phones the size of house bricks and pornography printed on paper. What hideously out of date stuff do you still use?

Thanks to boozehound for the suggestion

I still keep my weed...
in a black plastic Kodak film canister.
*shows age*

I keep
fountain pen ink cartridges in one.

As a teenager, I also used one to store my filthy concrete in. However, it went a bit odd after 5 mins, so that was that experiment in the bin.

did you know you can make a rudimentary spirit level out of one of those fountain pen ink cartridges?

(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 11:24, closed)
ink IN a cartridge?
pah, new fangled etc will never catch on...
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 11:24, closed)
haha, my brother does that too.
mine is kept in a box with a magnetic catch that a usb stick came in.
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 11:23, closed)
neat!
is it fairly air-tight?
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 11:25, closed)
not particularly
but the radii of the curves on the corners and the height of the box exactly fit my baccy tin, which is pretty airtight.

Best reply yet.

well that makes it a winner.
for a while i used a 1950's puncture repair kit tin, nice and slim and a lovely design. however it was not hermetic so not suitable for green at all :-(

I've had issues with that recently
I had some slightly damp stuff stored in about as airtight a container as I could find. I had to throw an entire untouched eighth away because it went mouldy.
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 11:35, closed)
grrr! a terrible shame that.
i've heard the mould can be highly dangerous.
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 11:37, closed)
yeah, I read a load about it before throwing it away
didn't sound at all pleasant
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 11:37, closed)
Store it in an air tight glass jar
In a dark cool place, you can't go wrong. I have some jack Herer that I won't be smoking until Xmas, so trust me this is definately the best way to store it.
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 12:06, closed)
mine generally doesn't sit around for that long

(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 12:10, closed)
Haha
I know what you mean, I'm going to have to use every "ounce" of willpower not to break it open but luckily have some normal greenhouse stuff to keep me going...Nom nom
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 12:14, closed)
That was down to the growing of it
UK growers pick it too early and don't cure it properly. If anything it needed to be left out. In addition to this the weed is not flushed properly hence fertiliser being left in the buds. Now this is a subject i do know about :D

i kept mine in my bra
when i was out of the house. inside, i had a hollowed=out bible that served as my weed holder
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 15:26, closed)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
all of this is full of win!
did you hollow the bible out yourself?
i've got 4 different drop-books, all but 1 hardback but no bible in there...
all i need right now is another project!
(, Tue 9 Nov 2010, 23:44, closed)
yes i did
when i was still living with the parents, i needed somewhere to hide my stash. the bible seemed a perfect choice. plus, it was the only book i was willing to cut up.

Fair dues
There is only about 10 zillion bibles around and counting, Good technique by the way.
