This is a question Blood

Like a scene from The Exorcist, I once spewed a stomach-full of blood all over a charming nurse as I came round after a major dental operation. Tell us your tales of red, red horror.

I like shaving
when I have enough time to do it. It becomes a ritual, something that calls me back to simpler times. It's a peaceful calming activity, the pleasant warm sensation of the razor gliding over your skin, the contortions you go through to stretch the skin are like yoga for the face. I take my time, I have a nice shave, and by the end I'm smooth as a baby's bottom.

Why on earth then did I just buy a cut-throat razor? This will turn my usually serene safety razor wielding experience into a date with death. I have yet to use it, but I fear my hand will be shaking with terror, and I will end up looking like I had a fight with a lawnmower.

Wish me luck

Same boat
I bought a cut throat last year but I still haven't summoned the courage to use it. Part of me thinks that I am just being silly, but the other, perhaps more intelligent part, thinks that my beadle hands will just precipitate a blood bath when I slip and cut my head off.

Consequently, I am sticking with safety razors for now. However, it is on prominent display in my bathroom and whilst I never say I use it and if asked, tell the truth, I think my friends who visit and use the toilet just naturally assume I am a double hard bastard and dice with death on a daily basis.

I summoned up the courage
minimal bleeding, and the cuts that did occur are very small and painless.

However, there is a problem. I have a retarded beard.

Most people's grain goes towards their chin, mine goes right. So all my facial hair (except the tache) grows to the right. This means that shaving against the grain for that extra smooth feel involves going from right to left. However, cut-throats only really lend themselves to straight up and down.

Bugger.
