BUG: WMV player autoplaying and no video controls + no editting available
I have reported this bug over and over, but apparently no one notices:

After you post a link on /links, you can't re-edit the URL field. It gives no precise error message, but the old URL stays in place. I experienced this today again in this link: www.b3ta.com/links/Ben_Folds_Zak_and_Sara_Finished_videoclip_by_me

Which brings me to the second problem: when posting WMV links, some people experience no video controls and always autoplaying (not just when you click the topic name). In result, the video always starts playing when they refresh /links, which in turn ruins the fun.

Please, b3ta, fix this.

Cheers.

thank you, but I do need a bit more than "some people". which people? what browser are they using? what OS? what version of Windows Media player? or if they're not on Windows, what video plugin?

okay, I've finally managed to reproduce this on Firefox, and disabled the plugin entirely for index pages.

When two major browsers (Safari/Mac has a similar issue for some versions, but I caught that one a while back) fail to ship with working media plugins, is it really any wonder that online video all ended up as Flash?

Thanks robtoo
and sorry for this late reply :)

It's working fine for the index pages. Only the video's (WMV) now load very slowly on IE6 (with a placeholder that keeps 'waiting' for the video for a good 10 seconds after the page has finished loading)
