... apologies for pedantry, then.

I still don't get how someone's managing to mis-spell whilst speaking, though? "There", 'There", and "They're" are pronounced identically in most cases.

Was this person emailing you? If so, you should definitely tell them off for emailing you inane drivel.

It was more an extra dig at the sort of person who uses this turn of phrase than because I have it written to me on a regular basis.
