Yes, that's a big wind up for me too!!
That, along with their, there and they're. Equally annoying, but at least they only affect written English. Should of, could of, must of, all seem to be emphasised in speech these days. I begin to wonder whether people do it to annoy me as I think I must HAVE developed a nervous twitch when I hear these phrases being said!!

(see also sumfink. Why?! The word doesn't have a K on the end, and never did. The only word that sounds similar is 'think' and it's unrelated. I can accept the inability to pronounce 'th', it's becoming more and more common, but the inability to actually read just pisses me off!!)
