Metrication
Back in 98/99 my ex worked on the Metrication helpline for a company who manufacture scales. Sounds like "Bavery Erkel"

Sellers of various weigh-able goods would call and see what they needed to do to make the change from selling in imperial. Buy a new fucking scale?

One day a call comes through from a heavily-Jamaican accented gentleman.

"I needs to get me new scaaaales"
"and what do you sell Sir?" enquires my ex
"I sell de 'erb Mon!"

I
love the fact that he was more concerned about compliance with EU regulation than getting done for supply of a class B.

Also, how fucking much weed was he weighing?!

Really?
I still buy my 'erb in ounces (well, fractions of an oz anyway). Not met a dealer in the UK who works with grammes.

Of course it's more likely that you've set us all up to look like terrible racists here and your ex's caller was actually a dealer in herbs and spices, not marijuana. So well done, have a click for raising a mirror to our ghastly white prejudice.

Having been taught metric in school
It took me an embarrassingly long time to work out what the actual weights I was purchasing my "spices" in were.

I was just told early on that a Louie was the smallest, a Henry was twice that and a George was two Henrys.
