This is a question Cheap Tat

OneEyedMonster remindes us about the crap you can buy in pound shops: "Batteries that lasted about an hour and then died. A screwdriver with a loose handle so I couldn't turn the damn screw, and a tape measure which wasn't at all accurate."

Similarly, my neighbour bought a lawnmower from Argos that was so cheap the wheels didn't go round, it sort of skidded over the grass whilst gently back-combing it.

What's the cheapest, most useless crap you've bought?

I bought some very cheap tat...
Not having a lot of money available, I sometimes have to deal with salvage to get the things I need. I had to have some basic farming help/equipment, so I made a deal with the local junk peddlers for a couple of robots. It turned out that one of them had some old data in it that my idiot nephew found, and the damn fool ran off with my robots! When he gets back from seeing that old bugger who lives out in the desert there'll be hell to pay.

...hang on, there's a knock at the door...

Is this some sort of Star Wars reference?
It is, isn't it?

Ha!

You can't fool me!

The last line alone is worth it...

Pssst! Chickenlady!
The old man in the desert also told some guy that these weren't the droids he was looking for. Turns out they were. Cunning old bugger...

Sorry Loon
But you've lost me there.

Oh dear.
Looks like we need to educate Chickenlady. Who's got a Star Wars DVD they can bring this weekend?...

Thanks Chickenlady
I thought I was the only one who didn't have a clue! I know now, but still can't picture myself actually watching the film!

You can lead a horse to water
But you can't make a Chickenlady watch Star Wars.

I'm afraid I lost interest in the entire series after the second one where Han Solo was put in the deep freeze.

*sigh*
I thought the original Star Wars was a universally watched film, like Wizard of Oz.

Ah well... we love you anyway despite this little void in your soul, chickenlady.

*shame*
Are you allowed to be a 42 year old women and have a box set of the first series of films?
(, Wed 9 Jan 2008, 15:39, closed)
I have seen the first two!
My dad took me to the cinema when I was about 8 to see Star Wars...I suspect he wanted to see it and taking me was just a ruse.
And I saw the Empire Strikes Back (that is the second one of the original series, isn't it?).

But the rest are all lost on me.

I didn't even see the one with the Ewoks!

Chickenlady
I am worse. I have never seen a Star Wars film or a James Bond film and I've never seen the original Matrix.

Unfortunately I have seen The Matrix 2 and 3.
