This is a question Clubs, gangs, and societies

Munsta asks: What groups or clubs have you been a part of? Are you part of a secret underground movement with aims to bring down the government, are you part of a yiffing cult, or do you get together with friends in an evening for a drunken game of soggy biscuit?

the Sunday Club
we've all been members of this club at one time or another. it's a vast group of people who have to spend a really dull sunday, such as today, doing absolutely nothing because there is FUCK ALL TO DO.
i fucking hate sundays. who's with me?

I invited a dozen people round and sparked up the pizza oven and the barbecue and got semi-pissed in the sunshine.
You don't hate Sundays. You're just rubbish at life.

rubbish
if you plan things properly, you can use your Sundays wisely by recovering from a thoroughly epic hangover.

/those were(nt) the days, my friend, i thought they'd never end, ...

I work on Sundays.
I don't start until 11, and all I need to do is stand in front of nine old people in a drafty old building and make up comforting shit about God and that. I get given my own house, my wife is a dab hand at cake-making and I have the other six days off. They told us at theological college that we were lucky cunts and they were right.

Mind you, my Catholic brethren have got it even more sorted. They spend their free time bumming lads. Fucking get in!

Amen.

Basically, I'm saying I'm a vicar.
And thus my Sundays are fairly busy. The idea being that I don't work on any other day of the week. And I am jealous of Catholic priests because I suspect them of anally raping lads.

OK, so I haven't got any real material. I just drive around and look after my kids.

I like dull Sundays - settling down to a nice cuppa and some knitting or something. No TV on, its all crap anyway - and in any event I don't even own one. No music. No one talking at me. Just nice and peaceful. The only way it can get better is if its raining, love the sound of rain.

i knit every day
so to me, it's just dull
(, Mon 25 Jun 2012, 9:08, closed)

Life is never dull when you're knitting toe socks.

Or you could read a book, embroider, sew, draw, crochet, learn a new language, play a computer game, start decorating, housework, plot someone's demise, all sorts of stuff.
(, Mon 25 Jun 2012, 10:41, closed)
i've done most of that
i'm currently knitting a blanket for my parents' bed, whilst simultaneously designing a new mario-themed blanket to start on next month

Sunday sessions are the best
There is something really amazing about drinking on a sunday.

Fizzy red wine on the other hand can go fuck itself.
(, Mon 25 Jun 2012, 6:48, closed)
if drinking on sundays is so good
why do i feel so bad this morning?
(, Mon 25 Jun 2012, 9:08, closed)
I feel your pain smashy
Mondays become torture after a decent sunday.

Sunday's are great.
Due to work I only get weekends to spend with my wife and baby daughter. Get all the domestic crap out of the way on a Saturday, then Sundays are a large breakfast, taking the baby out to the park, zoo or whatever, or seeing friends, a couple of mid afternoon pints whilst reading the paper, then cooking a decent meal, watching a film or reading then sleep. Fantastic.

Just work out how you like to spend your time and use Sundays to do so.
