Facebook i can see the point of - but Twitter? Come on, it has NO USE WHAT SO EVER. Except to arselick some celeb as they tell you about their meaningless lives.

Twitter is a great idea, lacking a purpose.
If it were used as, say, an internal communications system for a large company it could be reasonably useful.
Instead of having to ring round different departments trying to find the one person who knows the answer to your question, you stick a 'tweet' (stupid word) up and wait for the answer(s) to roll in.

I agree though that in it's current form, it's pretty pointless.

I find it ok
I use it to keep in touch with my gf in the US.

I.e. I post interesting things/things which have happened to me. She does the same. That way, when we skype each other we don't waste time telling each other what we did that day and can concentrate on more important things. Useful when you're out of phase by 8 hours.
