This is a question I don't understand the attraction

Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

tattoo symbols
i dont get people who have kanji symbols tattooed on them... i mean sure you think it means love or luck or something along those lines
but unless you understand and can translate yourself you've no idea what it actually means.
it could mean "I'M A CUNT" for all you know.

Agreed
Girl at work wants to get an Ancient Egyptian hieroglyph. I have repeatedly asked why. She can't really explain, and isn't toally sure what it means - she saw it on a catalogue of tattoos.

From my point of view, if you can't really explain why you want a particular symbol other than 'it looks nice', and you don't really know what it means, branding it on your flesh for the rest of your days is not a great idea.

Be careful..
Also about mixing cultures. A girl I know was a Taurean, and she had a tattoo to signify this, on her shoulder. Alas it was a Chinese character.

In the Chinese restaurant later that year, she wondered why the two waiters kept looking at her sideways and whispering to themselves. Until at paying-up time, one of them asked. "Please, why do you have the word "COW" tattooed on your shoulder?"

My brother
has a tattoo written in Thai. He likes to tell people it's something deep and meaningful, but it's actually the name of the pub he spent most of his time in when he went to Pattaya.
