Common
Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."
My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.
What stuff do you think is common?

and another thing ...
Over-designed sound systems that look like Darth Vader's toilet. Some people just have no fucking refinement.

The classic look is pretty much awesome. Compact minimalist designs like those employed by Bose are good too. Glowing blue everywhere and speakers with grotesque bulges are a no-no.

Definitely
Though I'm not sure "designed" comes into it, let alone over designed. Design usually means some element of thought was involved in the creation, other than "what will give the brain dead chavs a wet dream?" that is.
