Common
Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."
My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.
What stuff do you think is common?

I think
We're all getting bogged down in semantics, between normal behaviour (whatever normal happens to be) and the truly tasteless. For example, normal behaviour for some is swearing like a trooper and enjoying fart jokes. Common, or the truly tasteless for example, is slowing down at the scene of accidents to see if anyone has died.

Is it bad...
That I'd once been away for the weekend and as I was returning home, there had been an accident on the slip road coming off the M-way and they were landing an A&E rescue copter in the middle of the road. Having had my camera on the front seat and being one of teh first cars in line to exit the M-way, I proceeded to take some pretty cool snaps of the copter in action and landing (note: not taking pics of the enormous accident or bodies wrapped in white sheets clocked off by the 5 fire engines - just the helicopter).
*edit: It's not the most common thing to see on the motorway and it did land next to my car!!! Albeit on the other side of the crash barriers...

It could be construed that way, yes.
What was your intent in taking pictures of the 'copter?

It was...
Big and shiny and landing next to my car! Sheer coincidence meant I had my camera on my seat. Just wanted a cool pic of something you don't see everyday. Would never have taken it if it were already landed and were taking people to A&E. That is wrong. No mutilated bodies involved, just a pic of the helicopter landing.
