My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

Maybe not common, maybe just sad.But I stopped into a Tesco Express on my way home from work, only to find a gaggle of hoodrats in the queue in front of me, in their sweaty little palms clutched packets of pro-plus, the caffeine tablets with about the same strength as half an espresso.
I can only imagine they thought it to be some sort of legal substitute for speed.

Many moons ago...I lived in Manchester and my girlfriend lived in Slough, so I would catch the midnight train to London to go and see her.
One night I thought it would be a good idea to stay awake for the journey, so took pro-plus just before the train left Manchester.
Next thing I knew I was in Euston.
I'd not even stayed awake long enough to go through Stockport at 00:10.
Lack of ringing endorsement for pro-plus then...
