My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

HmmmReminds me of a mother I once heard in Tesco telling her daughter that she couldn't have any more books because they already had some at home.

Kids will demand stuff they don't really want or need all the time.
Now, an adult saying "No, I already have some books" is stupid.
