Common
Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."
My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.
What stuff do you think is common?

Yeah, I'd say you've got it right. (No offense, flirtingwithbadgers.)

It makes you wonder where it'll stop.
Have they adopted the phrase "purple heaven-met" as well?

Thats brilliant
The stupid/god-fearing Americans have truely outdone themselves with that one.
Id say they should win some sort of prize but that might spur them on.

I'd be curious
to know if they're still doing this- that was eleven years ago, after all.
...what am I saying? This is Texas- of course they are!
