This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

I pronounced Pilates
as rhyming with pirates, as I'd only seen it written down before. Then I said it outloud one day, and the girls in the office burst out laughing ^_^

Yeah, me too
Mind you I always think molestation is pronounced "mole-station". Or at least it should be.

Ha!
Although it's only a molestation when there's a mole in it.

That's how I'm going to mentally read that word from now on
