This is a question Complaining

I like writing letters of complaint to companies containing the words "premier league muppetry", if only to give the poor office workers a good laugh on an otherwise dull day. Have you ever complained? Did it work?

The Company I work for
A large US Pharmacy, two syllables, has a color in the name, will resolve every complaint to the customer's satisfaction. I've been told to refund a lady $2 for a $1 item because she didn't like it, and I had to give her $5 for the trouble of her coming back to the store to return it.
Our pharmacist had to give a guy 30 free percocet because the guy said he was shorted 30 from his 60. Percocet is a CII narcotic, it must be counted in triple. The stock bottle has to have the quantity updated after every fill. There is no way he could have been shorted 1 pill, let alone 30. What my company did was ILLEGAL, and I complained about that. They got away with it as it was a "customer service issue."
So any merkins, complain to the big corporate pharmacy and they will do whatever you want, no matter how stupid. I've seen it for over ten years now.

I'm not sure I see your problem.
The company you work for evidently make enough money by being generous to customers, and they pay you to work for them.
That sounds like capitalism working well to me. It's a shame other companies are able to get away with treating customer like shit because they're a monopoly or have given the government a few backhanders.

Most of it, fine, sacrificing short term profits for customer loyalty
The giving away of a CII narcotic because a patient complained that he's been shorted with no other investigation, however, is another thing entirely.

6or the most part yeah...
EXcept customers know they can exploit this and use it to their advantage. Such as the guy who every month complains about his insurance copay being too high so we refund half of it. And the lady who calls and accuses some lady who hasn't worked in our store for years of being rascist and gets a $25 gift card.
This company just doesn't care about right or wrong, just about keeping customers.
I never said it was an inherently bad thing all around, I just don't think every complaint it valid.
