I happily cough up for Mr Quar and his pal and run them to and from the venue every couple of months. After the first savage hangover they learned not to jump at the host's invitation to help themselves to the opened bottles!

I ordered a dram of a rather expensive malt on my birthday .
The barman double-checked with me that the price was correct (£25). I told him it was. He said that would explain why he hadn't sold a drop of the stuff in the three years he had been working there. He then asked if he could watch me drink it. I'm sure he was thinking I was a right prick; that and the fact it would take him four hours on minimum wage to pay for what I polished off in a few short minutes.
