But if the TV has an even number of speakers then the combined sound of the 2 odd numbers will be an even number

And, moreover
volume 27 on my Hitachi is the same as volume 10 on my Sony. Then if I use the Sony in conjunction with the Humax box, each of which have their own controllers, modifying a Humax volume 17 with a Sony 8 would require a deep understanding of Mathematics to have any idea if the output was "odd" or "even". So like any OCD pursuit of perfection or symmetry, this is futile.
