ThatNiceMan asks: Have you ever been talking with people down the pub when somebody throws such a complete curveball (Sample WTF moment: "I wonder what it's like to get bummed") that all talk is stopped dead? Tell us!

He's brilliant with telephone cold callers...
He kept one on the line for twenty minutes talking shit about guitars and chocolate and X-Box games, then ran through every DVD we own before the poor bastard hung up. We own quite a few DVDs.

I did
a similar thing with a door-to-door double-glazing salesman.
Turns out he played guitar. We ended up playing until it was dark, then I signed his form to say he'd given me the speil. Was bloody excellent.

I think I remember this.
Didn't you post the story on an old QotW? Not that I'm sad and read through all the old ones for lulz or anything...

I think
I may have actually now you mention it. He also had loads of stories about being a roadie in the 60's and 70's. Joey somethingorother his name was. Turned out he was a really nice bloke and pretty decent guitar player.
Mind you, I do this with most people that knock on the door. I had the Jovs turn up one day, so invited them in for a chat and a drink. Was actually quite interesting, despite being a practicing atheist.
