which is close to where I grew up. Occasionally, it shifts and settles a bit. Once, I was woken by a small tremor.
"Oh, it's an earthquake", said to myself, as I rolled over and went back to sleep. Three hours later, I woke with a start. "What? An earthquake?!"

It started as wardrobes banging and I thought the kids were fighting. Then it sounded like something heavy slid down the outside of the house, (end terrace), heavy like a tree trunk. Then the floor vibrated quite hard for a few seconds.
