I've woken up occasionally
conscious that I've been screaming, and I know exactly what you mean by 'proper scream sound, but quiet' Sort of strangulated, because you're not filling your lungs beforehand.

I talk in my sleep
nonsense mostly, but my girlfriend tells me she tries to keep the conversation going - and admits trying to wheedle secrets out of me.

i do this too, but it wakes him up and makes him grumpy that I woke him up!

Cripes!
Done this on many occasions. Then I get scared because I'm not making any noise whilst attempting to scream. Then get myself into a more panicked state!

Other than that I did wake my wife up once by making 'duck noises'. Yes, I was asleep and no, she doesn't harbour sexual feelings for water birds.
