I get that a lot aswell.
I work on the upper floor of a store. Once I've finished serving a customer, they'll sometimes look around confused and ask me where the stairs are.

Not posting on the main page as not my story
but I met a guy who worked at a big tourist attraction (Hampton Court Palace or somewhere) who had a long list of amazingly stupid questions he'd been asked by visitors. The best one was 'Do these stairs go down as well as up?' I'm hoping he's a B3tard as I want to hear the rest of the list again.
