This is a question Customers from Hell

The customer is always right. And yet, as 'listentomyopinion' writes, this is utter bollocks.

Tell us of the customers who were wrong, wrong, wrong but you still had to smile at (if only to take their money.)

Last night...
I was at work for a total of an hour and a half.

For those who don't know, I have a lovely new job at a local bar. We are VERY tight on ID.

I was approached at the bar, by a girl/woman who looked about 15/16. I asked her for ID. Here is what followed.

Her: "Vodka and coke please"
Me: "Have you got any ID with you?"
Her: "For god's sake... NO!"
Me: "I'm sorry, but I can't serve you"
Her: *storms towards door*
Her: *Turns and heads back towards me*
Her: *Can I have a glass of water then?"
Me: "Sorry, but you have to be 18 to be in here, and you have no ID"
Her: "That's 14!"
Me: "No, in this chain, you must be 18 to be in the pub unless you are eating with an adult. Sorry."
Her: "Can I use your toilet then?"
My colleague: "Yes, but you have to leave straight away after"
Her: *Storms into the toilets*

20 Minutes later.......

Customer comes storming out of the loo's and screams at me:

"I've never been so insulted in my life! I'm 22 and a half years old!"

I shrugged and she walked out.

Me and my colleagues pissed ourselves.

The end.

*generic length/apology*

I got ID'd well into my twenties
I was well aware that I looked like a kid, so always carried ID. I never took it as an insult, having a part time job as a barmaid (once got ID'd by the Police when working!) and if I forgot the ID, tough luck. My own fault.

"I'm 22 and a half years old..."
bahahahaa,

surely everyone stops mentioning what fraction of age they are when they get to about 8!

"I'm 36 and three quarters!!" *BIG GRIN*

Edit - Also I'm a very young looking 20 year old and get ID'd all the time, I really dont see why people have a problem with it. How hard is it to put a driving license in your wallet with all your other cards?!?

having been id'd many times
I always carry some with me, and if I do get asked I smile and go "yeah, but i'm 26, so thanks, you've just made my night."

no sense in kicking off, except at a bouncer once where my friend once shouted "he's twenty four for fucks sake, I look younger than he does!" and surprisingly, they let me in.
