Kilimanjaro
Just got back from climbing it a few days ago and at the time of the trek I was thinking "What the hell am I doing?!" as it was the hardest thing I'd ever done (and will probably remain the hardest thing I'll ever do) but, on reflection, I am so glad that I did it. It's the best decision I've ever made, it's helped me to learn more about myself and have more faith in my abilities. Plus my mates and I have raised, so far, almost £12,000 for Everyman, which is an amazing feeling in its own right! If anyone here gets a chance to do it, I'd recommend it.

I raised about £300 for Everyman by being a lazy bugger and not shaving for a month when I was 17. Said growth became quite thick and bushy

Well done mate. I'd love to do that, however, after spending two days on my feet doing a job I don' t usually do (I'm an IT desk jockey), my feet have blisters and my legs feel like lead, so I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it!

Did you go to Gilmans or Uhuru? I climbed it as well a few years ago.

The last push for the top was the worst for me, not sure if your group was similar to mine but we made final ascent at 2am, so the whole way up the skree run it was pitch black, freezing cold and you had no idea how far it was to the top. That was the worst time ever, took everything in me to keep going. that was followed by the best feeling ever when I made it to teh top :D

Whilst I'd quite like to climb up Lt. Uhuru (at least, the 1968 version) I suspect you're talking about a certain Australian rocky outcrop.

I reckon I would remember the last push to get over the top, too
