This is a question Dodgy work ethics

Chthonic asks: What's the naughtiest thing a boss has ever asked you to do? And did you do it? Or perhaps you are the boss and would like to confess.

A certain computer game store
After a certain console was running out of stock, I was told, nay ordered to go to a rival store, buy the consoles at a cheaper price and then smuggle them back into the shop and sell them at a higher price.

Fuck knows how this was done on the system, but it wasn't my boss's decision - it was the area manager's decision.

I got several pints bought for me though, to keep quiet.

Wait, a shop was selling things at a higher price than they paid for them?
Surely there should be a law against that.

Well
It was during a specific sale and we weren't supposed to be selling certain consoles as we'd already run out of stock. So quite often I'd go into the rival store and buy 3 or 4 of the consoles and then return to my store and then sell them.

So yes, it was naughty.

I recall reading something similar to this in the paper a while ago.
Tesco, I believe it was, began selling Nintendo Wiis for well under the RRP for a brief period of time. So a local branch of Game went in and bought all of them to sell at profit.

And Gamestation with the Nintendo DSi I think it was...
