Pointless Experiments

Ammo disection
As a callow youth a friend and i decided to investigate the contents of a live shotgun cartridge.
Results:The gun powder in a cartridge burns most prettily and the shot is surprisingly small.Oh,and coming out in a cold sweat years later when i actually thought about how monumentally stupid a thing this was to do.

It's not THAT stupid really...
The nitro propellant burns pretty slowly when unconfined, and you really do have to twat the primer on purpose to set it off. Having taken apart many blank rounds (and one or two live rounds) to find other more interesting uses for the powder, there is a knack to it. It's one of those things that always feels/looks more dangerous than it is. The chances of a round spontaneously going off are very slim as believe it or not they're designed not to!

What are you talking about
that's not exactly dangerous:/
the powder wouldn't have exploded unless you contained it, ie. in a shotgun barrel.
