You didn't miss anything.I went as a child and don't recall anything exciting, fun or interesting about the place -- I did have fun, of course, but I've had much more memorable times in cheaper places. Disney's not the worst thing, but it is hugely over-rated.

Port AventuraIt's a huge theme park in Spain. Woody Woodpecker is a bit shit but they have Sesame Street characters for the kids and the rides are good. It's still quite expensive but probably half the price of the equivalent Disney branded park.
