This is a question Famous people I hate

Michael McIntyre, says our glorious leader. Everyone loves Michael McIntyre. Even the Daily Mail loves Michael McIntyre. Therefore, he must be a git. Who gets on your nerves?

Hint: A list of names, possibly including the words 'Katie Price' and 'Nuff said' does not an interesting answer make

Charlie Brooker
For being one of those moaning cunts who only wants to go on and on about how shit everything is.

Yes
You can make a case for his turning into the new Mary Whitehouse. Not quite as scary and outright wrong-headed but just as censorious (he has actually rallied support for other journalist's work to be "disappeared" in the name of political correctness - he is an enemy of free speech).

His endless tirades outlining how violent he feels like getting toward various people are really, really dull too.

More info please
"(he has actually rallied support for other journalist's work to be "disappeared" in the name of political correctness - he is an enemy of free speech)."

I'd be interested to find out more about this...

^this^
I've had a quick search around but couldn't find anything. Could anyone provide a link or some further information on this?

Ah, I've found it
Here's the article Jan Moir wrote which provoked Charlie Brooker: www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1220756/A-strange-lonely-troubling-death--.html

Here's Charlie's article to which the earlier post referred : www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/oct/16/stephen-gately-jan-moir

Here's Jan Moir's response : www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/oct/16/jan-moir-stephen-gately-response

And another : www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/oct/23/jan-moir-stephen-gately-apology

I personally think calling him "an enemy of free speech" to be blowing the situation out of proportion but, as a fan of Mr. Brooker, I would be unable to totally deny accusations of bias.

However I do find Jan Moir's article to be in very poor taste and feel it contains a rather homophobic subtext, and although I wouldn't join a call to arms attempting to ban it, I would have felt justified in registering my distate at the time of publication. (I didn't, incidentally)

Anyhoo, at least people can have a read and make up their own minds

in the old days
He used to be funny now he's just shit. And when channel 4 put him on a fake quiz show he couldn't handle Frankie Boyle's comments.

I actually think he's bang on in his "Newswipe" series he's had going recently. I share most of the opinions on it. But that's because I'm not a fan of the media.

I see what you did there

I agree
even though I agree with his views a good deal of the time, and he writes very wittily. There's something rather heart-sinking about his Guardian column, however brilliantly it's put together. It's the unrestrained cynicism I can't stand. By all means slag something off amusingly, but when it becomes your raison d'etre you need to take a look at yourself in the mirror and ask if this is what you want to be remembered for.
