the remote in our houseis called the 'zapper'.
as in 'pass the zapper,Harry Hill's on.'
if someone asks for the 'remote' the whole family stops whatever they're doing and stares at them until they take it back.

From my wife's side of the family...The remote is now known as "The Beeper" even though it quite clearly doesn't beep.
I have seen a real clicker remote before though.

In our houseits called the blipper.
Its strange how these words seem totally normal until someone else is there and they look at you like a freak.
And the looks you get off girlfriends parents round their house when you ask for the blipper... "Why have your brought this nutter into our home dear?"
