You are not aloneGuitar strings yes (the finer metallic ones, not the lower notes ones: you can tell I don't play) . Never had a problem with 10p pieces.
I even have problems if someone else runs their fingers over such things and makes a noise. My son does it with his holographic place mat and I have to get up and walk away with my mouth fixed in a rictus of hair raising agony. I've made my wife swear never to tell him about it as he'll only do it on purpose every day for the rest of my life.
