odd to think of. An extremely good-looking male friend of mine confessed the other day that he would never dare to just walk up to a girl and ask her out. This is even though he knows full-well he is hot

But for girls it is tougher. Confidence is not enough. You could be the funniest, sweetest, nicest girl* in the world and not get a second look unless you're also a size 6 and plastic. At least that is how it feels like on bad days.

We should organise a meetup of those who feel all awkward with the opposite sex on some kind of speed dating thing. Specifically for those who find it cripplingly difficult to approach those they are attracted to.
