Onemunki says: We live in a world of genuine tragedy, starvation and terror. So, after hearing stories of cruise line passengers complaining at the air conditioning breaking down, what stories of sheer single-minded self-pity get your goat?

Oh noes! Star Wars has been ruined 4 EVA
How terrible for you.
The creator of a piece of popular entertainment has decided to release new versions of it over the years. I can see how that must impinge on your human rights.
Perhaps we should round up all those involved and exterminate them.

Ha, im guilty of this.
The way i see it is too a lot of people, star wars was a big part of thier childhood, when you change it, its altering somthing you loved. I'd say "You don't see painters adding new bits to thier paintings after 20 years!" but i dont know enough about paintings to be confident im correct.

Was it 16 years of changes, after da vinchi was "done" or was he touching it up for 16 years untill it was done? I suppose the distinction isnt as cut and dry as with a film getting a release.

Well yeah,
the concept of a commercial release is a bit weird with relation to any art, I guess. :P
But as a rule people say that he 'wasn't happy' with it, kinda implying that it was a perfectly respectable picture of some melancholic bint, which he just wouldn't leave be. :P
