I've found
That I'm still really lazy. I'm supposed to be in lectures in 7 minutes but I'm not going because I've got napping planned and it's raining.

It's not like I'm missing out on anything. I've already got the material we're going over and it's a shullbit lecture anyway.

Ahhaaaa!
That's the kind of excuses my students come up with, rationalising that because I provide my PowerPoint slides there'll be no need for them to attend. Then they all fail.

but I've had no sleep in the past 2 days and am of the firm belief that not making my own brand of chocolate in my trousers is just reason for not going.

One tip I wish I'd known a few weeks back:
If you're so hungover you end up missing 4 hours of lectures and then promise yourself that you'll go to ALL the lecture that day next week HOWEVER hungover you are, don't spend the previous night drinking enough vodka and red bull to float a small ship. You will be hungover for the next 30 hours.

(Yes I did still go - mainly because I was still too drunk to sleep at 9am).
