I am a godparent for my youngest sister.
When renouncing the devil at the font, I crossed my fingers behind my back.
Childish I know but it's little victories like that against the church that make me smile.

I've only been to one christening
other than my own (which doesn't count)
afterwards I decided that if someone asked me to be a godparent that I would have to politely refuse.
I don't mind the odd white lie now and then, but I won't stand up in front of a group of people and solemnly announce something that is not true in any way, shape or form.
Unless it is for humourous effect.

My parents only got her christened so she could attend the good catholic schools..
Best thing they ever did for her.
She's a bloody heathen now like the rest of us.
